Native to northern Australia, the lemon eucalyptus plant is highly sought after due to its high concentration of citronellal, limonene, linalool and other antioxidants, making it widely used for insect repellent. Oil from the leaves of the Lemon Eucalyptus tree is applied to the skin as a medicine and is used for help in preventing mosquito and deer tick bites; for treating muscle spasms, toenail fungus (onychomycosis), and osteoarthritis and other join pain. It is also an ingredient in chest rubs used to relieve congestion.It is known to have antioxidant and atifungal properties, helps boosts the immune system and can help to speed small wound healing. 

Like other essential oils, lemon eucalyptus essential oil has the potential to cause skin irritation when used topically. If this occurs, stop using it.
